Takes care of wrinkles, noticeably firms the skin, moisturises and acts against impurities
The vitamin retinol, which is essential for many metabolic processes, boosts our cell regeneration and inhibits collagen breakdown by stopping the responsible enzyme. Simply put, it reverses our natural ageing process. This makes our Retinol Serum the perfect product for wrinkles, pigmentation marks and sagging skin.
Do you suffer from impure skin or even acne? Retinol can help you here too. It noticeably regulates sebum production and counteracts blocked pores, inflammation and pimples. Your skin appears finer. Just like vitamins C and E, retinol is also an antioxidant. It acts powerfully against free radicals and thus protects your skin from oxidative stress. In our serum we use retinyl palmitate, also known as retinol ester. This is a precursor of retinol and is only converted into the active form of retinol by the responsible enzymes in the body. This is gentler on your skin and still guarantees a comprehensive effect. Our Retinol Serum has a converted concentration of 0.27 % retinol.
Accustom your skin slowly to your new care and do not overstrain it immediately. At the beginning you should only use the Retinol Serum once or twice a week before slowly increasing the regularity. If you feel the first signs of skin irritation, pause for a few days before applying the serum again. A great feeling may appear early, but depending on your individual skin type, it may actually take 4 to 12 weeks before you see the first results. So have a little patience with our Retinol Serum. We promise it will be worth it.
After cleansing your face, spread the serum thinly over your face and allow it to be absorbed well. Use the pipette to apply a few drops to your forehead, cheeks and chin. Gently tap the serum with your fingers.
Due to the accelerated renewal of cells, the upper layer of skin is correspondingly young and your skin is therefore much more sensitive to light. We therefore strongly recommend that you apply a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 every day. You should also apply retinol products in the evening so that your skin can regenerate in peace overnight.
You should be careful if you have pre-existing skin conditions, such as couperose. It is best to consult your dermatologist before use. It is best to avoid using retinol cosmetics completely during pregnancy and when breastfeeding.
Organic share: 82,3%
Nature share: 99,5%
Our Retinol Moisturising Cream has a retinol content of 0.13% and our Retinol Intensive Serum has a retinol content of 0.27%. These percentages seem low at first, but there is a reason for this. On average, 1-1.5 mg of retinol (vitamin A) is already absorbed through food per day, but this is not necessarily beneficial for skin care. Only an external supply achieves the desired skin care effect. However, a maximum of 2-3 mg should be achieved by external supply (including the amount taken in with the diet). Otherwise, side effects due to overdose may occur (headaches, nausea, flaky skin and in the worst cases even liver disease).
However, the retinol concentration in cosmetic products is neither regulated by the EU nor by the German Cosmetics Regulation. According to the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment, however, the additional intake of retinol by serums and creams should be strictly limited. In the case of products for the whole body such as body lotions, the active ingredient should even be avoided completely. However, up to a concentration of 0.3% a product is completely harmless and can be used up to 2 times a day for the face. Our Retinol Serum contains 0.27% so that it can be combined with the Retinol Cream in a common care routine if required.
It is very important to us that our products work very well, but at the same time are very skin-friendly and irritations are avoided as far as possible. That is why we use gentle Retinyl Palmitate in our retinol products. Its effectiveness has been proven by studies and, unlike other forms of retinol that are frequently used, it causes less skin irritation, redness or itching. It is often claimed that this form of retinol is too weak, but this is not true and has also been disproved by studies. Retinyl Palmitate can effectively fight the signs of skin ageing and stimulate collagen production.
We recommend using the product in the evening, as retinol takes several hours to be absorbed and the product can therefore best develop its effects overnight. Simply apply a small amount to the desired, previously cleansed and dried skin areas.
Please do not use retinol products during pregnancy. This is just a precaution, as oral intake of large amounts of vitamin A is associated with possible birth defects. It has not yet been proven that skin care products can have this effect. In general, though, we think that a bit of caution might be helpful.
In Junglück you will find retinol once in the form of a serum and once as a moisturising cream. Which one you finally choose depends on your preferences. Both products contain the effective and skin-compatible Retinyl Palmitate. Our serum contains a slightly higher percentage, but is still mild. After the serum you can, for example, use another skin care cream, such as one from our Hyaluron series. If you want to keep your skin care routine as short as possible, you can choose the cream and have two care steps in one.
In most cases, the skin is not used to the external supply of new nutrients and needs about 1-2 weeks to be able to process them effectively. The skin can therefore react somewhat irritated to the retinol (vitamin A) it contains.
If the irritation (depending on intensity) does not disappear after 2 weeks, we recommend discontinuing the application and contacting us or a dermatologist directly.
